CPP OFFERS MYERS-BRIGGS® WORKSHOP SERIES

Anyone Who Values Knowledge for Making Effective Life Choices Will Benefit

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., August 1, 2006 – CPP, Inc. announces a new series of workshops titled “Career Development Using the Myers-Briggs® Assessment.” Following on the exceptionally well-received workshop series on the newly revised Strong Interest Inventory® assessment, the five-hour Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) workshops provide beginners, as well as seasoned MBTI users, with innovative techniques and vital insights to bolster their career counseling center and practice.  The 40+ workshops will be hosted at colleges and universities coast-to-coast beginning in late August 2006, concluding June 2007.

CPP’s world-renown assessments—including the Myers Briggs and Strong instruments—are the gold standard of career exploration tools, providing research-validated and time-tested insights that foster successful counseling relationships.

“The Myers-Briggs workshop series gives high school, college, and other career development professionals the opportunity to explore the MBTI instrument in a career development context,” says Ingmar Luth, CPP product marketing manager.  “The workshops provide practitioners with a great overview on using the world’s leading personality assessment – at a very reasonable cost.”

Topics will include basic Myers-Briggs theory and interpretation, strategies for verifying type, and suggestions for career identification and major selection.  The program has been approved by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), and continuing education credit is offered.

"Stanford University is proud to host CPP's Myers-Briggs workshop in December,” says Margot Gilliland, MS, Career Counselor, Stanford University Career Development Center. “We teamed with CPP last year to host a Strong Workshop and it was very successful. And as an attendee, the insights I personally learned from the instructor Catherine Holmes enabled me to work more successfully with challenging clients. With adding Judi Grutter to the instructor roster, the new MBTI Workshop series will offer even greater value to attendees."

The workshops are facilitated by either:

  • Judith Grutter, M.S., NCC, MCC, Principal, G/S Consultants, and a trainer and career development program consultant with over 30 years experience. A recipient of the CCDA Lifetime Achievement and Practitioner of the Year awards and co-author of many CPP products, Ms. Grutter is one of the foremost experts in the field.
  • Catherine Holmes, M.S., CPP Education Consultant, and an assessment trainer with 20 years experience in career counseling and program development.

No prior Myers-Briggs training is required. The workshop is designed for past, present, and future users of the MBTI instrument, including counselors who support college students, advisors who help adults make career decisions, and anyone who values knowledge for making effective life choices.

Price for the workshop admission is only $50.  Workshop admissions can be purchased online at www.cpp.com/mbtiworkshop and by calling CPP Customer Relations at 800-624-1765.
