Counseling to the Next Level - Career Development Combining the
Myers-Briggs®
and Strong Assessments." The workshops are designed for career
counselors and academic advisors who support college and high school
students, as well as all practitioners who help adults with career
decisions.
The Newly Revised Strong and MBTI® Career
Report provides your students and clients with a complete career
development picture based on a combined interpretation of their
interests and personality. Leveraging the latest research on both
instruments, the report presents you with an effective way to interpret
the two instruments together.
Assessment Interpretation Strategy — A Series of Case Studies With the release of the newly revised Strong and MBTI® Career Report this summer, CPP and Judith Grutter, M.S., NCC, MCC — one of the report authors — have teamed up to launch a series of case study discussions on strategies for assessment interpretation. This issue's discussion focuses on Terri, a second-year college student who is revisiting her initial decision to major in child development and pursue a career in elementary education. Dear Colleagues, Welcome to the 2007 — 2008 academic year! Your campuses are buzzing with new students, many of whom need direction. If you are in a career center and need help advertising your services, we still have free "Bad Careers? Not Here!" posters. We wanted to share one success story from Nancy DeCrescenzo at Eastern Connecticut State University: "At Eastern Connecticut State University, we value each and every student success! In fact, we receive so much positive feedback from students; we started a special section of our website to celebrate them. Each semester we host a Writing & Communications Intern in our Office of Career Services. One of the intern's responsibilities is to interview students who have experienced success as a result of interacting and working with our Office. The stories are then posted to our department's website. Students identify with their peers, and the Success Stories website has generated increased traffic to our office.
