Dr. Rich Thompson is the Divisional Director of Research and manages the Research Team, leading the company’s research efforts in the U.S. and worldwide. He provides strategic input on cross functional product development efforts. Thompson has authored multiple in-house surveys for customers and represents CPP at major conferences such as SIOP, APA, ASTD and SHRM. He earned his Masters and Ph.D. in Psychology, with a minor in management, from Texas Tech University.
Dr. Michael Morris is a Senior Research Scientist, primarily focused on international research and development for CPP’s assessments. He manages large scale research projects, working with internal researchers, clients, international distributors, external academics, and consultants to develop assessments that are appropriate for local populations while retaining consistency to facilitate cross-border use. Morris’ work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, and he has authored assessment feedback reports that have been translated into several languages and used around the world. He received his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Iowa State University.
Dr. Justin Arneson is a Research Scientist with extensive background in psychological assessment. He has published research in journals such as Psychological Bulletin and Psychological Science, and has presented research findings at multiple professional conferences. Currently, he conducts psychometric research supportive of CPP’s assessment offerings. Further, he engages in consulting activities as needed and supports CPP’s product development and Professional Service efforts. He earned his Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Minnesota.
Nancy Schaubhut, a Senior Research Associate, holds a M.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Schaubhut conducts product-related research and development for CPP’s assessments and has authored or co-authored numerous CPP publications and technical reports, including the MBTI® Type Tables series.
Craig Johnson leads the data science activities for the development, validation, and deployment of custom client solutions and provides design and data science analysis for product design at the CPP Innovation Labs. Prior to joining CPP, he was a Database Manager and Statistical Analyst in the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. During his tenure at the University of Nebraska he designed and maintained project databases, wrangled data in a wide variety of formats, and aided in statistical analyses. Craig has a wealth of experience in the personality domain with his background in Industrial/Organization Psychology and has conducted myriad validity generalization and local validation studies, evaluated alternative scoring techniques for personality assessment, designed return-on-investment metrics, and worked on job analysis and competency related projects. He has a strong interest in applying technology and statistics to product development and research. Craig received his B.A. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Xavier University.
To further the science in assessment development and research, CPP provides support to selected scholars interested in conducting research that makes use of CPP assessments as a primary contributor to their study. Qualified researchers and scholars can receive the following support benefits:

Those interested in free or discounted online accounts, materials, or other kinds of support must complete a Request for Support. Supported studies are those conducted by qualified investigators that do the following:
- Build on and extend existing research
- Develop new areas of inquiry
- Extend the use of CPP published assessments
