Summer Vacation Decision Making—Extraverted Intuition

Once you have spent time considering the facts and details during decision making (more about that in our previous blog post here), it’s important to consider the possibilities beyond the “what is.” Extraverted Intuition (Ne) most often helps us consider the possibilities beyond what is right in front of us and what we have learned from the past. As you think about where you might go for vacation this summer, consider the following Ne questions:

• How can I keep my options open regarding possible vacation activities and experiences, and how long I want the vacation to go?
• What would be new and different from what I’ve done before?
• How can I take a few small risks here and there?
• What are the newest and most exciting locations people are talking about?

The MBTI^® types that typically rely the most on extraverted Intuition (Ne) during decision making are ENFP and ENTP. The types that might forget to use Ne during decision making are ISTJ and ISFJ.
